What can my anti-smoking film be on?
What happens if my film is over two minutes?
Your film does need to be like an advert – under two minutes. The best films that we see are short and to the point.
A 10% leeway will be allowed. Any films over 2 minutes 12 seconds will be penalised and any films over 2 minutes 30 seconds will not be included and will be removed from the website (in this case you will be sent an email notification and have the chance to resubmit up until the deadline but not after).
How old do you have to be to enter the competition?
You just need to be 25 or under as does everyone in your group.
How many people can make one film?
There’s no limit of people who can be involved in making your film. BUT we do only have six prizes for the national winners and they will need to shared for larger groups.
Can I enter more than one film?
Of course you can! We love to see your creativity!
I’ve never made a film before! Help!
Don’t worry there are loads of tips and guides to get you started. The simple ideas are usually the best.
I want to use music in my film is this ok?
Yes, but it really is better to use original or copyright free music. Remember you should get permission to use all the footage and music in your film.
All our films are hosted by YouTube, if your film matches third party content it risks being blocked and therefore if blocked will not be able to be part of the competition.
How do I upload my film?
When will the winners be announced?
The shortlist is announced at the end of May 2017.
All shortlisted films and filmmakers will be invited to our National Awards ceremony on 7 July 2017 in central London.
