Cut Films North West 2012 Short Film Competition
The Deborah Hutton Campaign and Smoke & Mirrors youth anti-tobacco project presents the Cut Films North West Short Film Competition.
This special anti-tobacco competition is funded by Tobacco Free Futures and is open to all young people under 25 in the North West of England.
The film should be under 2 minutes.
The Competition Brief
- Choose theme, e.g. Plain Packaging or Celebrity and Media
- Research theme
- Script it
- Film it
- Edit it
- Upload to website under North West - Smoke & Mirrors 2012
- Share it and vote for it

Closing dates for entries: 16 November 2012
Closing date for voting: 7 December 2012
Winners announced: 11 December 2012
North West Awards Ceremony: 28 January 2013
Award Categories
1. Overall North West Popular Choice
One winner. The Best Film in the North West as voted for by the general public.
Prize: £500 shopping vouchers for the winning film.
2. County Popular Choice
Five winners. One each from the following counties - Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. As voted for by the general public.
Prize: £100 shopping vouchers for each winning film.
3. North West Judges Choice
One winner and two runners up as voted for by a special panel of judges.
Prizes: iPad for each group member awarded first prize.
